Issues We Will Tackle
Housing
Solutions
Without a safe, clean, and affordable place to live, West Michigan families continue to fall behind. As your voice in Lansing, I have supported policies that help build more houses and rehabilitate the homes already in our neighborhoods.
As our communities grow, we need housing that fits the character of our neighborhoods and gives more working families, young adults, and seniors the ability to afford a place to call home.
Getting ahead,
not getting by.
Michigan set the standard for a healthy middle class. I want to get our state back to where hard work and a day’s wages mean a family can make memories, not just make ends meet.
With the price of groceries, utilities, and everyday items going up, we need a job market that rewards hard work with good wages. I will continue fighting to create good-paying jobs in Michigan that pay wages people can get ahead on. When we do this, it will give us all the opportunity to have the life we deserve, not just the one we can afford.
Excellence in
Education
Teachers and students across Michigan deserve better. A quality education should not be determined by your ZIP code, but schools like Godfrey-Lee, Wyoming, and Grand Rapids have not received the flexibility or funding they need to help every student succeed.
It's time we address Michigan's education challenges with classroom improvements and responsible funding. Let's pay teachers what they deserve, give students the tools and technology they need to succeed, and provide extra support for students who need additional attention and instruction.
Healthcare
that cares.
The cost of healthcare is rising, and too many Michigan families are forced to choose between paying for groceries, rent, and other essentials or getting the care they need. I am committed to working on solutions that make it easier to see a doctor, catch health problems early, and avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room.
By helping people get regular, comprehensive care sooner, we can prevent more serious illnesses, improve health outcomes, and bring healthcare costs down for everyone.
Safe places to call home.
Everyone deserves to live in a community where families can thrive, neighborhoods are safe, and people have the opportunity to live healthy, fulfilling lives. As both a local and state leader, I have worked to bring resources home for our first responders, ensuring they have the training, equipment, and support they need to answer the call when an emergency happens.
I will continue working to ensure our communities are protected by well-trained, well-prepared first responders while supporting local leaders and proven strategies that help prevent crime before it happens.
